"We can provide the right amount of advice and direction, while leaving artists in control of their music."
UNIFIED Music Group has officially unveiled its new artist distribution service, Community Music.
While the company has previously offered distribution services, working with artists like Ocean Alley and Jack Botts, it’s today they announce the new arm of the company, after a soft launch earlier in the year.
Its roster already boasts Bugs, Sarah Saint James, First Beige and more.
“While Community Music is a new brand, we have spent the better part of four years developing the model for success in this format,” General Manager of UNIFIED Recorded Music Luke Logemann told The Music.
“UNIFIED is a company that was founded in both Artist Management and Recorded Music, and we've used our artist relationships on both sides to get an understanding of what type of service will help an independent artist succeed.
“We feel through Community Music we can provide the right amount of advice and direction, while leaving artists in control of their music. We have long worked with Management clients Ocean Alley and Jack Botts in this way, using our in house label infrastructure to support their needs on the recorded music side.

“Earlier this year, when we made the call to expand the roster, we reached out to our networks of managers both in and out of the company, as well as a few artists we were passionate about working with. In a short time, we've built a diverse roster of interesting and creative artists with an independent ethos and fantastic teams around them.”
Headed by one of UNIFIED Music Group's Senior Artist, A&R and Events Managers, Dan Nascimento, Community Music aims to “create a genre-agnostic, all-inclusive space for artists to flourish creatively and execute their music release to the highest possible standard”.
It has also been described as “a service for artists that thrive in a DIY environment and wish to remain independent, yet have a supportive team around them”.
Sarah Saint James noted: "Being in control of my artistry is something that's super important to me when choosing who to work with to help bring my project to life.
“Through Community Music, I've met a team of people who not only believe in me as an artist, but my creative vision and my ideas. Since being with Community Music I've never felt more supported, and I can't wait for the future!"
