triple j is going to be sounding a little bit different from July, with the station announcing new changes to its Breakfast and Drive programs.
Announced on air this morning, listeners will be welcoming Drive hosts Abby Butler and Tyrone Pynor to the Breakfast slot starting in July.
Having won listeners over with their trademark chaos and wild stories, the pair have been a staple of the Drive program since 2023, having hosted the likes of the station’s Hottest 100 countdown, Mardi Gras coverage, and even the livestream for triple j’s One Night Stand.
“Brb letting my 14-year-old self know her dreams have come true,” Butler said in a statement. “She's currently too busy calling into triple j to try and win San Cisco's bongos from their Like A Version (true story!), but it's safe to say she'll be stoked.”
“Girl... imma need a louder alarm,” added Pynor.
With Butler and Pynor heading to the earlier timeslot, that leaves the question of what current hosts, Concetta Caristo and Luka Muller will be doing. Most notably, Caristo will be wrapping up her time at triple j.
Starting her role as co-host of Breakfast in December 2022, Caristo went on to become one of the station’s most beloved and engaging presenters.

Alongside her time spent presenting segments such as Like A Version, the pointy end of the Hottest 100, and interviewing myriad artists and celebrities in her trademark manner, Caristo was also named the winner of this year’s edition of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
"As a girl known for having one million feelings in every moment, it is criminal to be asked to sum up my time at triple j in a sentence,” Caristo said in a statement. “Spending my mornings laughing and talking to so many people around the country has been a genuine privilege and joy in my life.
“I'm going to cherish the memories forever.”
Meanwhile, Muller will be moving from the early morning slot to what a press release describes as the “sleep-in/stand-up gig-friendly time slot of triple j Drive.” Muller won’t be serving as the sole host, however, though details on who will be joining him will be announced in the coming weeks.
Muller joined the Breakfast program in 2024, replacing Bryce Mills. Like Caristo, Muller has been a constant presence on the station, overseeing the Hottest 100, One Night Stand, the station’s 50th anniversary celebrations, and also present at the ARIAS and triple j’s J Awards.
“I’m so proud of everything Concetta and I got to do on Breakfast and feel so very lucky to have shared it all with someone so kind, talented, fun, and silly as Chet,” Muller said in a statement.
“Stepping into Drive is gonna be so much fun. I’m excited to meet new listeners, I’m excited for everyone to see what we’ve been cooking up, and I’m excited to turn off the 4am alarm.”
Caristo and Muller will present their last edition of Breakfast on Friday, June 26th, with the new program line-ups launching in July.
