More Snoop Dogg More Snoop Dogg

We all know that Snoop Dogg is cool. Well, now, he has become something of a hero.

In an interview with Variety, Seth and Lauren Miller-Rogen recalled when Dogg auctioned off a blunt on-stage for their Alzheimer's charity, Hilarity for Charity. Miller-Rogen thinks the weed cigarette went for $10,000, while Rogen says the example encapsulates how we now discuss Alzheimer's disease differently.

"If you're lucky enough to be able to get Snoop Dogg to come perform at your show and auction off a blunt for Alzheimer's care and research, then I think that speaks very well to an unexpected but effective kind of melding of matters and sensibilities," Rogen said.

Snoop Dogg founded the Snoop Youth Football League for vulnerable young people in Southern California in 2005. By 2018, it was the most prominent football league in Southern California. Dogg said that at least 20 of his previous pupils play for the NFL this year.

Each Thanksgiving, he partners with city officials and gives away turkeys to people in need in Inglewood, California. Other causes he supports but is not limited to include: Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Mothers Against Police Brutality, Habitat for Humanity, and the Save a Life Foundation.

This August, Dogg launched his signature cereal, Snoop Loopz. Rapper and businessman Master P announced "the best tasting cereal in the game" via Instagram. According to the website, Dogg owns the company manufacturing the product and uses that freedom to raise money for charities, including Door of Hope.

A website statement reads, "EVERY TIME YOU MAKE A PURCHASE OF BROADUS FOODS PRODUCTS, YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE. WE ARE PROUD TO SUPPORT CHARITIES SUCH AS "DOOR OF HOPE".

"The heartbreak of homelessness can't be solved by providing a bed for the night, a hot meal and a shower, or financial assistance alone. We address the root causes of homelessness with our holistic approach while simultaneously keeping families together. We listen to our families, give them a voice, advocate for them, and empower our families with the tools they need to succeed."

Also in August, he launched an animated TV show, Doggyland, in collaboration with Hip Hop Harry originator Claude Brooks and fellow musician October London.

Available via YouTube and YouTube Kids, Doggyland puts hip hop and R&B spins on classic childhood songs Heads, Shoulders Knees And Toes, and Wheels On The Bus and serves up some wholesome original tunes with titles like Sharing Is Caring and Everyone Is Different.
