Canada's Sights & Sounds are thrilled to announce their first ever Australian tour this December 2011. "The band and I are so excited for this upcoming Australian tour" says frontman Andrew Neufeld. "I've been coming to Australia for the last 7 years with my other band Comeback Kid and to finally come with Sights & Sounds is a dream come true." Their debut full length album was released in 2009 through Stomp Records in Australia. Produced by Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, Misery Signals, Lamb of God), Monolith is a collection of intricate songs that straddles the line between being sonically massive while also creating a beautiful experiment in textured sounds. The result is an exceptional album full of post-hardcore and punk influences, placed seamlessly over hints of far-eastern melodies - creating songs that are as aggressive as they are imaginative. Sights & Sounds is Andrew Neufeld (vocals / guitar), Adrian Mottram (guitar), Matthew Howes (bass, vocals), Joel Neufeld (drums), and new addition Dave Grabowski (keys, percussion). They have toured extensively through North America and Europe following the release of Monolith with bands such as Billy Talent, Moneen and more.
National support comes in the form of Adelaide’s Grenadiers and Melbourne’s Chasing Ghosts.
Grenadiers play rock music the way it was meant to be played - loud, fast, fun, full of energy and devoid of pretension. It’s music that hits you first at the feet, then in the heart, and if it makes a detour to your head then that’s pretty cool too. A raging mash of influences like The Bronx, Queens of the Stone Age, Hot Snakes and every other awesome rock band in the last twenty years. It’s a sound hits you in the face then screams at you to hit it back.
Chasing Ghosts is a unique folk sound, a change of pace for former Bellevue frontman Jimmy Kyle, whose new direction is a soulful and intimate departure from his screamo roots. Jimmy has completed his debut solo record "Confessions from a Phone Booth" with US Producer Andy Beck and has been playing showcases around Australia.
