Travis BarkerAs reported last month, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker is the subject of a forthcoming documentary feature film.
Now, it’s been confirmed that Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, 13 June, and debut two months later in Australia.
The documentary film is scheduled to land on Disney+ in Australia on Thursday, 13 August. According to a press release, the film arrives after 10 years in the making, and is set to tell the “story of the man behind the tattoos.”
The documentary will follow Barker’s journey “as he embarks on a raw and redemptive journey,” which began after he survived a devastating plane crash, where he nearly died, and didn’t fly for years.

The documentary is also set to dig deeper than Barker’s fame as the drummer of Blink-182. It will reportedly detail a “complex man” who deals with pain, grief, and the “thin line between survival and surrender.” Plus, Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear will give voice to the drummer’s collaborators, as well as icons of punk rock, and his loved ones.
The synopsis reads:
After surviving a devastating plane crash that nearly took his life, legendary and electrifying drummer Travis Barker embarks on a raw and redemptive journey. Once a trash collector in Laguna Beach, his life changed when he stepped in as a replacement for Blink-182’s drummer — igniting a meteoric rise that would make him the driving pulse of a generation.
Yet beneath the spectacle of fame, the film reveals a complex man battling pain, grief and the thin line between survival and surrender. Featuring appearances from collaborators, cultural icons and those closest to him. This is the story of the man behind the tattoos. A tribute to those who keep going when the music almost stops.
Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, produced by Matthew Weaver and Nick Stern (Media Weaver Entertainment), and executive produced by Lawrence Vavra and John Janick.
In early 2024, Blink-182 returned to Australia for a 15-date tour with special guests Rise Against. After the tour’s conclusion, Barker auctioned items from the shows – including his Qantas boarding pass from Sydney to Perth – and showed support for Aussie hardcore outfit SPEED.
