The Menzingers announce release date
Rising punk rock band The Menzingers create a rousing sound featuring crashing power chords, rock steady drumming and anthemic sing-along choruses alongside powerfully poetic everyman lyrics. The group is set to release their Epitaph Records debut album On The Impossible Past this February 17th. On The Impossible Past was recorded at Atlas Studios in Chicago with longtime collaborators Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms) and Justin Yates. While the record retains all the raucous spirit of the band's earlier efforts sonically, it's a monumental step forward. "I think that 'Gates' is one of the most mature songs on the album," guitarist/vocalist Tom May explains, referencing the tender rock song sung by Barnett that truly transcends genres. "I hope it surprises people because it's not a straight-forward punk song with gang vocals or anything like that but it still definitely sounds like us." Howard is a part of our family and always will be, and we wish him well. He has left big shoes to fill, so we certainly have our work cut out for us to find the next singer of Killswitch, something we plan on making priority #1 going forward. Most importantly, thanks to all of you for all the support throughout the years and for stic...

The Life and Times release new video
The Life And Times have released their video for track "Day One". The song is taken from the Kansas City band's forthcoming album, No One Loves You Like I Do, which is set to drop January 17. You can watch the video here Says vocalist/guitarist Allen Epley: "I think the way we wanted to approach this video was to create a fairly complex narrative between the girl and the guy from a very simple set of actions, which is their struggle off the couch and across the floor until he dominates her. At the end of the whole thing, we're left wondering whether it was a playfully consensual tussle between lovers--or was there something darker happening there? There's themes of obsession and desperation and co-dependance and abuse, wrapped in a lovely and slightly erotically charged scenario. The slow-motion camera idea came about as a kind of sweet to counter saltiness of the driving beat of the song itself. They sort of work together in a syrupy, juxtaposed way.'
