As she readies the launch of her Australian tour, Lily Allen has confirmed she plans for things to go full steam ahead despite an unfortunate cancellation to launch her latest trek down south.

Announcing the biggest headline tour of her career, and her largest shows to date in the region, Allen revealed in February she would be heading to New Zealand and Australia across October and November for her Lily Allen Performs West End Girl tour.

Her first shows in both countries since 2019, the tour was scheduled to begin in Auckland overnight (October 21st), but Allen was forced to cancel the date due to sickness.

“To my West End Girls in Auckland,” she wrote on her Instagram Story on Wednesday, “I am so sorry to have to tell you that I have come down with a viral infection and am unable to perform tonight.”

“I was really looking forward to seeing you all and am absolutely gutted to be letting you down,” she added. “I hope to be able to come back to see you son. Thank you so much for understanding.”

Understandably, concern was raised by her Australian fans, with that leg of the tour set to begin in Brisbane on Friday, October 23rd.

However, promoters Frontier Touring confirmed to The Music that the six Australian dates are currently set to go ahead, noting, “At this point in time Lily is resting and recuperating, with the full intention of completing the rest of the tour in Australia as planned.”

Tickets to Allen’s Australian dates are on sale now, with all shows to feature Dallas Minor Sextet – formerly known as Dallas Minor Trio – Lily Allen’s “very own cello ensemble,” as they describe themselves.
