Powderfinger ProfileIt’s fair to say that the country has been starving for Powderfinger shows since their Sunsets run in 2010. This week, the beloved Aussie rock icons confirmed that tickets to their 2027 reunion tour – all 26 dates – have sold out.
During yesterday’s general sale, fans snapped up the remaining tickets following a massive pre-sale effort last week. More than 300,000 tickets were purchased in just six days, eclipsing the general sale of the band’s farewell tour in 2010.
However, Powderfinger know many fans missed out, but hopefully not for much longer.
According to a press release, the band’s team is working to secure “one final encore run of shows” to close the tour, taking over Big Top tents at outdoor venues across the country in September and October 2027. More details will be revealed once they’re confirmed.
The band’s team asks fans for a little more patience and to keep their spirits up if they haven’t gotten tickets yet. In a statement, Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning said of the incredible response to the reunion tour:
We are still gobsmacked by the response to this tour. A few weeks ago I was in the ballot for Radiohead tickets. It was BLOODY STRESSFUL and I was eventually lucky enough to be able to buy some. So, I understand what a difficult process it can be when you’re trying to juggle work, kids and life in general.
So, we are going to put together another string of shows in select destinations that allows as many people as possible to get their hands on tickets.
Please keep the faith and be patient. We are just as excited to see YOU as you are to see us. Love BF xx

After cryptic billboards and a mysterious Instagram account surfaced earlier this month and began teasing their reunion, Powderfinger announced they’d reform for a special run of shows last Monday (12 October).
Demand has been phenomenal. Their already-announced tour expanded to 26 shows across the country for September and October 2027.
