mgk – the artist formerly known as Machine Gun Kelly – is in Australia for his highly anticipated lost americana tour.

His first shows Down Under since 2018, with demand and popular recent releases, have led the singer, songwriter, guitarist, and rapper to perform in arenas for his long-awaited return. The tour kicked off at Perth’s RAC Arena last night (8 April), with 30+ songs from across all eras sure to please fans—casual and devotees alike.

In Australia, mgk is joined by special guests Will Swinton and honestav. The singer typically plays a cover or two during his sets, and last night’s show was no different. Recent setlists indicate that he’d perform plenty of songs from his latest and seventh album, lost americana, with his mainstream breakthrough, Tickets to My Downfall, also receiving lots of love.

Reviewing mgk’s show at Perth’s RAC Arena, The Music’s Sam Mead wrote that the singer paid tribute to blink-182 with a cover of I Miss You and covered Paramore’s Misery Business.

“The Lost Americana Tour, named after the album of the same name, offers a variety of bangers and ballads to fill the long-awaited void between the American native’s previous visit down under,” Mead wrote. “It highlights just how succinct and defined his genre-bending style has merged into a genre of his very own, where he feels most comfortable. It’s a moment that feels both grand and intimate and never overstays its welcome.”

Following the Perth show, mgk will head to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, 11 April, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Tuesday, 14 April, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Thursday, 16 April, and conclude the run at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday, 18 April. The Melbourne show is sold out.
