Are you in Melbourne for AC/DC’s massive shows at the MCG starting tonight? You might want to head into the CBD and check out the High Voltage upgrades at AC/DC Lane.
The City of Melbourne unveiled the changes on social media this afternoon (12 November), spotlighting a new, light-up installation at the entrance to AC/DC Lane to celebrate the iconic rockers’ long-awaited return to the city.
Celebrations of rock will continue at Federation Square from 4:30 pm today, when bagpipers from across the state head to the city for The Great Melbourne Bagpipe Bash in an attempt to break the world record of the largest-ever bagpipe ensemble.
Hundreds of pipers—veterans and newbies alike are invited to participate in the ambitious attempt—will belt out the AC/DC classic, It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll), the legendary music video filmed around the corner on Swanston Street nearly 50 years ago.

In addition to today’s celebrations, Fed Square, City of Melbourne, and Double J have teamed up to host a free gig headlined by Amyl And The Sniffers, which will take place this Friday (14 November). For the show, entitled High Voltage, the Melbourne rockers will be accompanied by special guests Public Figures.
