Madonna has postponed her Celebration world tour after being hospitalised with a “serious bacterial infection,” her manager Guy Oseary wrote in an Instagram statement.
“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU,” Oseary wrote. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.
“At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.
“We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”
Page Six also reports that Madonna was rushed to a New York City hospital and intubated after being found unresponsive.
The Celebration tour was due to begin in Vancouver on 15 July, kicking off a 35-date world tour that was slated to run in the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and the UK. The tour was scheduled until January 2024.

Pitchfork reached out to representatives for Madonna for comment as Oseary mentioned that new dates would be revealed soon.
While Oceania dates could come later, it currently looks like Australian, and New Zealand fans won't be visited by the Queen Of Pop.
Madonna's Celebration run will be her first-ever live retrospective. The singer will reportedly perform music from her extensive discography, from her 1983 debut to her most recent album, 2019's Madame X.
"I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for," Madonna wrote on her website upon announcing the tour earlier this year.
Since announcing the Celebration tour in January, Madonna’s biopic starring Ozark’s Julia Garner was reportedly scrapped, she unveiled the controversial original music video for American Life after 20 years, her SEX book is heading for auction, and she’s collaborated with Sam Smith on the track Vulgar.
Sam Smith and Madonna went into the studio to record Vulgar just one day after the Like A Prayer singer introduced Smith and Kim Petras for their performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
With hard-hitting electronic elements, Vulgar embodies its name, tying in with an explicit, almost spoken-word mantra of the two artists banding together as one united front. A hype song in every sense of the word, Vulgar will become a fan favourite in both artists' live sets.
