After finishing off her Tension Tour in the UK, Kylie Minogue has been forced to reschedule a handful of dates in Europe after being diagnosed with laryngitis. The affected shows were set to take place in Berlin, Lodz, Kaunas, and Tallinn.

In a statement shared with fans, Minogue said she had hoped to recover before the first show on Monday (16 June), but she’ll need more time to properly get better. She urges fans to hold on to their tickets as she and her team work to reschedule the dates ASAP.

“Hi Lovers,

“As some of you may know, a week ago we finished the UK leg of The Tension Tour,” Minogue began her statement, posted overnight (14 June). “I made it over the finish line (Yay) but unfortunately have succumbed to a viral infection (Hello laryngitis).”

She continued, “I've tried my best to recover fast to start our next run of shows on Monday but I'm afraid it will take me some days to be well enough to get back on stage and perform my best for you.

“I'm so, SO sorry! I have no choice but to postpone the shows in Berlin, Lodz, Kaunas and Tallinn as scheduled. Please keep hold of your tickets, we're doing our very best to reschedule the dates and will update you very soon on that.

“Thank you for understanding – you know I love you all. And I LOVE THIS SHOW! And I'll miss you next week. And, I can't wait to see you. Love Kylie xxx”.

Kylie brought the Tension tour to Australia earlier this year. Reviewing Minogue’s recent show at Perth’s RAC Arena, The Music’s Jake Fitzpatrick wrote, “This was a woman who gave it her all, and in doing so, made 15,000 people forget about everything outside the arena, if only for a few hours. Kylie’s legacy is undeniable. Nearly 40 years in the game, and she’s still shimmering as brightly as always.”

Minogue is set to tour across Europe for the remainder of this month and in July before taking the Tension Tour to South America in August.

In April, Minogue received the Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music at this year’s APRA Music Awards. She received the honour after another significant honour in February, when she was honoured with a commemorative star at Melbourne Park, which pays tribute to her 35 years of performing at Rod Laver Arena.

Kylie’s star can be found at the forecourt in front of Rod Laver Arena, adjacent to the statue of Frontier Touring co-founder Michael Gudinski.
