"I'm really proud of it. I can't wait," she recently revealed.
Kate Hudson is no real-life Penny Lane; like her Almost Famous character, she's closer to one of the guys in Stillwater - she wants to make her own music.
Hudson recently appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, where she revealed that during the pandemic stages of COVID-19, she was determined to live a life without regrets.
The Something Borrowed actress told Fallon, "You know, I had this thing [during] COVID... Every time you're doing interviews, people are like, 'Do you have any regrets?' I go, 'I'm in my early 40s... not yet.' But during COVID, I was like, 'You know, what am I doing?'"
Hudson added that she had been writing songs since she was 19 years old but hesitated to share her work. "I just thought that would be one of my great regrets. I have no expectations," she said. "I just want to put a record out, and so I'm doing it. And I'm really proud of it. I can't wait."
The actress confirmed that her debut album will come out "next year".
Now, we get to speculate about her album's sound. Hudson duetted Carly Simon's classic You're So Vain with her How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days co-star Matthew McConaughey. She was also engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy from 2011 to 2014; who knows what kind of musical conversations they shared?

Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn, landed on our 18 Celebrity Records You Can't Un-Hear feature, but Hawn's music was nowhere near as bad as some of the other picks. It's not well known that Goldie Hawn had a crack at a music career, with 1972's country folk album Goldie.... existing. It was recorded with the help of Dolly Parton and Buck Owens, so it isn't a total disaster. Although we note she didn't go back for album #2.
