Rock and blues legend Joe Cocker has died at the age of 70, after a battle with lung cancer.
As reported by multiple media sources, the English musician's death was confirmed by his agent, Barrie Marshall. Cocker succumbed to his battle with small cell lung cancer yesterday.
Tributes have poured in from the music industry, including a number of Twitter posts from Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton and more.

Sony Music Entertainment Chairman and CEO Edgar Berger released this statement on Cocker's passing:
"Joe Cocker is a legendary artist of rock and blues history and yet he was one of the most humble men I've ever met. His iconic voice will forever be etched in our memories and our thoughts go out to Joe’s wife Pam and his family at this difficult time. Joe will live on in the hearts of millions of fans around the world."
The raspy-voiced Cocker, born in Sheffield, was known for a number of hits throughout his 40 year career, including his rendition of the Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends, Up Where We Belong and You Are So Beautiful. He released close to 40 studio albums and toured extensively throughout his career, including a number of visits to Australia.
Cocker is survived by his wife Pam, as well as his brother, step-daughter and two grand-children.
