The rising singer is making big waves in his native US

More Bluesfest More Bluesfest

Ascendant Los Angeles-based artist Gallant is clearly pretty excited about his impending Australian trip for Byron Bay Bluesfest next year, announcing two headline shows in the wake of the festival to keep him on our shores just a little longer.

The Weight In Gold hit-maker will follow his appearance at the event with a gig at The Corner, in Melbourne, going on to take on a Sydney show at the Oxford Art Factory the next evening.

Gallant has been leaping from strength to strength all year long, landing in Australia for the first time ever in 2017 following a solid period of piling up praise all over the place, including a nod from Billboard as being the #1 performer of Coachella this year. Even mega-stars like Elton John, John Legend and Seal are into Gallant's sweetly formed vocables, publicly slinging him props as a voice to watch.

Operating under the broad banner of 'future soul', Gallant has worked hard to earn those commendations; he self-released his debut EP, Zebra, in 2014, and supported 2000s indie poster-child Sufjan Stevens in 2015. He went on to receive a standing ovation following his first appearance on US TV, a showing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in May this year, just over a month after releasing his debut studio full-length, Ology, to broad acclaim. And it's safe to say his star will only continue to rise from here, so it'd be a wise investment to get in on his first visit to the country.
