Newsweek has reported that Prince Harry is a potential Grammy award nominee at next year's ceremony.

Prince Harry's 15-hour-long self-narrated audiobook of his controversial memoir, Spare, reportedly qualifies him to at least be considered in the Best Audio Book, Narration & Storytelling Recording category.

Spare was published on 10 January and, despite media leaks, became the fastest-selling non-fiction book of all time, earning Prince Harry a Guinness World Record.

If Prince Harry is nominated, he will join an impressive company of high-profile figures who have received or won a Grammy award in this category, including Barack Obama - a two-time Grammy winner; Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton, Maya Angelou, Hillary Clinton, Quincy Jones, Carrie Fisher and Maya Angelou.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams commented to Newsweek, "There is every chance that Harry will be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word (Best Audio Book, Narration and Storytelling Recording) next year for his audiobook reading of his memoir Spare."

Fitzwilliams added that despite the book's controversial chapters, it's been a massive success for Penguin Random House.
