Justin Vernon set to 'walk away' from the Grammy award winning band, for now
Bon Iver founder Justin Vernon has told an American radio station that the band will be taking a well-earned break after an extensive few years of touring.
Vernon told Minnesota's 89.3 (via triple j) that it's time to give the group a rest so it doesn't become stale.
"I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of how that music comes together is subconscious or discovering. There's so much attention on the band, it can be distracting at times. I really feel the need to walk away from it while I still care about it. And then if I come back to it - if at all - I'll feel better about it and be renewed or something to do that."
The indie-folk band's label Jagjaguwar confirmed the break but assured fans the hiatus wasn't permananent.

"They are just going off cycle after two very busy years on this record," said a rep to Pitchfork.
It really has been an intense few years for the band, with their second self-titled album coming to much worldwide acclaim, as well as winning the 2012 Grammy award for Best Alternative Music Album. The guys have toured the record across the globe, including here in Australia back in March.
