Bluesfest has revealed the fourth artist announcement to join the already stacked 2023 line-up.

The fourth wave contains the festival's long-awaited securing of Scottish superstar Paolo Nutini. The singer hadn't toured for eight years, so as soon as Bluesfest organisers heard rumours that he might be touring, they worked in overdrive to score him.

Other artists announced today are The Angels - who were lauded as one of the best acts at this year's event, Ash Grunwald, Backsliders, The Bros. Landreth, Eugene' Hideaway' Bridges, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and Yirrimal.

Festival Director Peter Noble OAM commented: "With this Bluesfest announcement for Bluesfest 2023, our 34th event, it is becoming clear that the return of international live artists mixed with great Aussie and Kiwi talent will be seen for the first time in Australia at the level it was before the COVID years. The line-up is one that I am immensely proud of, and 2023 is becoming one of the great Bluesfests. Thank you so much, everyone, for your support through the hard years; please now come and join us for the celebration."

Today's announcement follows the news of New Orleans legend Big Freedia joining some of the world's most acclaimed artists at Bluesfest shows in Brisbane and Sydney next April.

Last month, Bluesfest Touring confirmed The Soul Rebels, joined by friends Talib Kweli and GZA of Wu-Tang Clan fame, on an incredible double bill alongside multi-Grammy winner Robert Glasper.
