Tensions flared during Alien Ant Farm and CKY’s UK tour on Saturday night (9 November) after CKY frontman Chad I Ginsburg allegedly punched Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell in the face.
CKY have been booted from the tour as a result of the altercation. The bands are scheduled to tour Australia in February 2025.
The two bands toured throughout Europe last month but were set to make their UK debut on Saturday. The alleged incident occurred earlier in the day, and after it happened, Mitchell shared a statement on social media and confirmed that CKY would no longer appear on the tour with Alien Ant Farm.
“Sadly, Chad from CKY hasn’t figured out how to cohabitate with others after all these years,” Mitchell wrote on Instagram. “They will no longer be on the Alien Ant Farm Tour through the rest of the UK shows after Chad punched me in the face earlier today.”
Mitchell alleged that Ginsburg had treated “multiple crew members and opening band members like trash” and “cause general drama around our camp.”
The statement continued, “Before the last Europe shows I went to Chad and asked if he had any issues with anyone specifically and if he wanted to have a meeting with the whole crew and bands to discuss what’s going on, he up ended the table in the dressing room and threw his phone, and then cancelled their show.”

Mitchell added that he imagines the physical altercation is how Ginsburg will treat “all his future problems” and that he’s grateful for his sobriety.
“I would love these shows to continue and apologize [sic] to all the CKY fans for Chad’s behavior [sic],” Mitchell wrote. “We have zero hard feelings for Jess and Elvis in CKY and are gutted to see them go, but I will never knowingly put myself in volatile situations so this had to end.”
Towards the end of the statement, Mitchell assured fans that they could obtain refunds if they were disappointed by the news.
He concluded the post, “Stay safe everybody. And Chad, Go To The Gym… After That, Find A Therapist, And Maybe In 25 Years… We Can Shake Hands. Until Then Though…. GET HELP, Love Dryden.”
In a post of his own, Ginsburg said he had “NO choice and GOOD reason” for allegedly punching Mitchell in the face.
“UK CKY fans—get your money back!!” he began. “I had NO choice and GOOD reason for what happened. I will always defend myself—you know me much better than that!
“More info to come. Apologies to the fans.”
The two bands’ Australian tour promoter, The Phoenix, has issued a statement since the alleged incident. The promoters are looking at solutions or compromises so the February 2025 tour can go ahead.
“We are aware of the altercation between a member of Alien Ant Farm and a member of their support act, CKY,” The Phoenix wrote in a statement shared yesterday (10 November). “We have spoken at length with the representative of both artists this morning.
“At this point it is best to let tempers cool and believe a solution/compromise can be found in the next few days that enables the shows (all of which are selling out rapidly) to proceed as planned.”
After a fan shared Mitchell’s post on X (formerly Twitter), The Phoenix responded, “We are working with both bands to calm things down and keep the tour intact. In the words of The Offspring, we may have to keep them separated...”
