American rock bands Alien Ant Farm and CKY are plotting their long-awaited returns to Australia with a massive co-headline tour on the way, today announcing a run of shows for February 2025. Both bands appeared on the Sing It Out line-up in September and October 2017, touring Australia alongside Wheatus, Hoobastank, and Lit.
The tour begins on Friday, 7 February, at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre, followed by shows at Sydney’s Metro Theatre (Saturday, 8 February), Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre (Sunday, 9 February), Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory (Tuesday, 11 February), and wraps up at Perth’s Magnet House on Wednesday, 12 February.
Fans can access pre-sale tickets from 9 am local time this Friday (25 July), followed by a general sale at 9 am on Tuesday, 29 July. You can find more ticketing details on The Phoenix.
The tour announcement comes a few months after Alien Ant Farm released their first album in nine years, Mantras, in April. The record follows 2015’s Always & Forever.
In 2001, Alien Ant Farm went to #1 in Australia with their cover of Michael Jackson’s Smooth Criminal. Their version of the Michael Jackson classic featured in the soundtrack of American Pie 2.

Alien Ant Farm’s guitarist Terry Corso commented about the choice to cover Michael Jackson at the time, “We want to pay homage to Michael Jackson, but on our level. Obviously, we're not that glitzy, so we just want to tastefully take the stuff that's cool in his videos and apply it in our own dirty little backyard way.”
The most recent CKY album, The Phoenix, arrived in June 2017. In 2022, lead guitarist Chad I Ginsburg hinted that the band had begun working on a new album. Earlier this year, the band toured across the US for the first time in over five years.
In April, Ginsburg confirmed that the new album would be entitled New Reason To Dream, revealing that it’s in the mixing process and will be released independently. New songs on the Australian tour, perhaps?
