THELMA PLUM

It would appear that 2022 is the year of Thelma Plum; her first release since 2019’s critically acclaimed release Better In Blak titled Meajin officially dropped in early August alongside multiple nominations at the National Indigenous Music Awards, a huge national tour around Australia (which includes a set for free at SPRINGTIME Festival on the Gold Coast) and you’d be hard pushed to find a media outlet in the country not singing her praises - including us! Click HERE to read Thelma Plum's recent cover story.

Thelma Plum will close out SPRINGTIME Festival’s second day with a headline set on the Beach Stage. Head HERE to give her latest release a spin before she lands on the coastline on September 3.

SKEGSS

If you weren’t one of the lucky punters that scored a ticket to one of the few remaining headline shows in Australia before they head off to dominate the UK and the US, Byron surf/garage rock trio Skegss are going to be playing their final (announced) Australian date at SPRINGTIME Festival on Saturday 3 September. For FREE! If you haven’t already, wrap your ears around the band's two singles from 2022, which showcase a very different side to the fuzzy, upbeat Skegss we know and love.

TEEN JESUS & THE JEAN TEASERS

Hailing from the nation's capital and channelling some serious Riot Grrrl-era energy, Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers are the most natural, unapologetic and damn likeable punk-rockers you’ll meet. Since dropping their single See You In A Bit (I Still Care) back in 2019, the group has continued to expand their fanbase - so much so that they're in the midst of a massive 11-date tour around the country in support of their biting new single Girl Sports and forthcoming EP. They’ll land on the Gold Coast for SPRINGTIME Festival on Sunday 4 September, before heading to Hobart to round out the tour at Uni Bar.

ALEX THE ASTRONAUT

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

Fresh from breaking an Australian record by performing the highest altitude live gig in an Australian city when she performed on top of the Q1 Building on the Gold Coast, beloved indie-darling Alex The Astronaut will return to Surfers Paradise on Sunday 4 September, armed with brand new, critically acclaimed record How To Grow A Sunflower Underwater. If you missed Alex’s performance, 330m above sea level, you can check out what all the fuss was about HERE!

EBONY BAUDU

Chances are you’ll know Ebony Baudu as one of the hosts of triple j’s Breakfast show, but outside of the ABC studios, away from the microphone and boardroom meetings, the 27-year-old hip hop and dance aficionado spends a bulk of her time juggling late nights behind the decks at parties, clubs and festivals. After teaching herself to DJ while hosting parties and working at Sydney community radio station FBi, Baudu quickly made a name for herself, going on to book a ton of huge festival slots around AUS. If you’re yet to get a chance to see her spin, she’ll be performing on Saturday 3 September at Springtime - right before Ninajirachi closes out the night.
