Faith No More's Mike Patton To Appear On New The Avalanches Album

Mike Patton, the acclaimed vocalist of heavy music outfits Faith No More and Mr Bungle, has a surprise on the way.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (2 September), Patton revealed that he’ll appear on three tracks on No Bad Memories, the forthcoming new album from Australian electronic music pioneers The Avalanches.

“I have been an Avalanches fan for a long time and was honored [sic] to be asked to be part of their new album, NO BAD MEMORIES, where you’ll find me on 3 tracks,” Patton wrote. “Out October 16th!”

He’s set to appear on the songs Total Recall, Superfun TV Spot, and Paradise Island. Actor Haley Joel Osment also appears on Superfun TV Spot after featuring on early No Bad Memories teasers, Stereogum notes. Paradise Island also features Tunisian footwork producer Khadija Al Hanafi.

While The Avalanches announced No Bad Memories last month, they didn’t unveil the tracklist.

However, they have shared a handful of singles: Can’t Get Over Losing You with Portraits Of Tracy, Together starring Nikki Nair, Jessy Lanza, and Prentiss; Every Single Weekend featuring Jamie xx, and Blue Shadows, with Karen O.

No Bad Memories will be released via Modular on Friday, 16 October. You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.

Meanwhile, Mike Patton will link up with his Faith No More bandmates in early 2027 for their first tour dates in eleven years, which are taking place in Australia.

Faith No More will open for System Of A Down on a highly anticipated stadium tour in January 2027.

The return of two absolute powerhouses of heavy music, with numerous culture-defining anthems to their names, will make for one of the biggest live music events the country has seen.

System Of A Down last visited Australia in February and March 2012, when they headlined Soundwave Festival alongside Slipknot and embarked on a run of headline arena shows, joined by special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan. The shows were marketed as their reunion tour.

Faith No More also last played in Australia as part of Soundwave Festival in 2015.
