Washington DC's pivotal metalcore act Darkest Hour will return to Australian shores in January.Joining them on this five-date tour will be Carnifex, whose dark and abrasive brand of deathcore will tear audiences to shreds.Since their inception in 1995, Darkest Hour have produced some of the most important music of their genre including 2000’s "Mark Of Judas" and 2005’s "Undoing Ruin". Sunshine Coast hardcore outfit Grace is Gone have recently posted two new demo tracks online. The Queensland band uploaded the songs ‘Survive’ and Broken Scales’ via their Facebook page, with the group lifting the lid on plans to hit the studio shortly.

The influential frontwoman of UK punk band The Slits has died at 48 years old. According to her stepfather and Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten), Ari Up died on Wednesday after suffering from an undisclosed "serious illness".
