Drummer of heavy metal legends Megadeth, Shawn Drover will make an exclusive instore appearance at Pony Music in Hallam, Victoria on Thursday December 16 at 8pm. 

Canada's Electro Quarterstaff have completed work on their new album, entitled Aykroyd. Guitarist Drew Johnston offers his comments: "It may take us three years to write a record, but better late than never, right? Our Aykroyd album is a 40 minute extract of musical punchlines that have been cracking us up in our jam space for the last three years as a supercharged quintet since the addition of our bassosaurus, Marty Thiessen. A guru of jazz funk hipcheck beatdowns, Marty furnishes the band with a luxurious layer of global warming which allows the trinity of rusty corkscrewed guitars to explore serpent coiled passageways and renegade escape routes through the dark halls of bittersweet harmony and dissonance. Fuck The Facts are back in the studio this week recording a bonus EP, that will only be available with the vinyl version of the band''s upcoming full-length album, "Die Miserable." The EP is set to feature four new songs not available on the CD version of the album, as well as a re-recorded version of the song "Unburden" (taken from the "Collection Of Splits 2002-2004"). In studio footage of the drum tracking can be viewed here. "Die Miserable: is currently being mixed in Winnipeg by Craig Boychuk (KEN Mode, Electro Quaterstaff, Propagandhi) and set for a spring 2011 release via Relapse Records.

Just south of Brisbane is a lovely place where dreams come true - Wet 'n' Wild. While touring together in March 2010, Canberra sludge merchants I Exist and Sydney pseudo thugs Phantoms visited this magical place and decided to immortalise it in song. Recorded in one afternoon with Lachlan Mitchell between visits to Sizzler and a Soulfly concert, the result is Bad Romance, 2 songs from each act and all named after Wet 'n' Wild rides. The 7" will be released January 14th 2011, with a pre order available from December 6th.

Dutch symphonic metal outfit Within Temptation have outlined details for their new album, as the band currently puts the finishing touches on the full-length in the studio.

Dutch hardcore bruisers No Turning Back have made a new song available online. The song comes from a limited edition 7" entitled "Reaching Forward", available now through Reflections Records.

Yorkshire metalcore outfit Asking Alexandria will release a remixed electro/dubstep edition of their debut album "Stand Up And Scream" in January. The release will be aptly titled "Stepped Up And Scratched (Stand Up And Scream Remix)"

Minneapolis based punk band Dear Landlord have announced that the band has entered the studio to record material for two new split records with The Dopamines and Toys That Kill. The band said: "We are going to Atlas Studios in Chicago on Dec. 6th, 7th and 8th to record 4 new songs. Two of them are going on a split 7" with The Dopamines, which should be out in early 2011 on Paper + Plastick. The other two are for a different split 7" with Toys That Kill, and that will be coming out on No Idea Records – also sometime early next year. With only 763 days until the Mayan calendar ends, we are trying to make the most of the time we have left as a band." The band last released "Dream Homes" in 2009.
