Virginian extreme metallers Deceased are working on their first studio album in six years.

AFI frontman Davey Havok is set to take up the lead role as St Jimmy in the Green Day musical "American Idiot". Melissa Etheridge has just wrapped up a stint in the role, which Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is currently playing.

Massachusetts metalcore outfit All That Remains, specifically frontman Phil Labonte, caught up with renowned US news station CNN recently to discuss the current Japan earthquake, after the band became caught in the middle of the natural disaster.

Following the release of their new single Emergency, Day On Fire have entered the studio to complete recording on their, as yet untitled, full length debut. The record is being produced by Karl Roberts from post-rock band Coerce and should be released later this year.

Rise Against have posted another new song from their forthcoming album. The song "Survivor Guilt" is taken from the band's sixth studio album "Endgame", which will be released on March 15 through Interscope Records.

No Sleep Records has announced the signing of Wharf Rats, the band that features Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire, Black Lungs), P.O.S, Chachi Darin (formerly The A.K.A's) and Chris #2 (Anti-Flag, White Wives).The label will be releasing the band's debut self-titled record on May 31, which is a limited two song 7".P.O.S had the following to say about the band:"All of us had expressed interest in working together in some way or another. Warped Tour has lots of down time and the John Lennon Bus, this super, way-too-nice mobile recording studio. It was really fun -- we all like making things.Maybe we'll make another [7-inch], or a full length, maybe play a show, or fifty, or maybe not. Between the four of us, there have to be at least eight active bands. Hopefully, we can find the time."

Sharks have posted a new song onto their facebook page. The song "Sweet Harness" is taken from the band's new compilation record "The Joys Of Living (2008-2010)", which will be released on April 5 through Rise Records.

Late Nite Wars have posted a new song onto their Absolutepunk profile page. The song "Aye Dios Mio, Adios Mi Hijo" is taken from the band's debut album "Who's Going To Miss You If You Go?", which will be released on May 10 through Panic Records.

Trap Them have launched a stream of their new album "Darker Handcraft". The album is scheduled to be released on March 15 through Prosthetic Records.
