Bridge Nine posted an interview yesterday featuring Massachusetts melodic hardcore upstarts Defeater, where they discuss the storyline behind their new album, their opposition to violence at shows, and playing their first show with Verse and Have Heart.Guitarist Jay Maas and the band had the following to say about their emphatic opposition to violence at shows:"I'll straight-up take the Fugazi mentality and stop the song and kick a motherfucker out if I see somebody doing shitty stuff, I hate it. If you come to a Defeater show thinking you're gonna punch somebody, you are so painfully misled, that is everything we do not stand for. I want you to sing along if you want to, I want you to jump onstage if you want and crowd surf without hurting anybody, but don't you fucking dare hurt anyone."

Gatsbys American Dream have posted a new song onto their Absolutepunk profile page. The song "Untitled" is set to feature on the band's upcoming new release, which will be released at some stage this year.

Victory Records have announced the signing of Chicago based four-piece Victorian Halls. The label has stated that the band "have an uncanny knack for constructing gleaming, crystalline, compact pop gems only to subsequently reconstruct them into maniacal masterpieces."

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of Intensus, an exciting and unique recording project masterminded by multi-instrumentalist Eli Litwin, drummer of Knife the Glitter, Burden, Normal Love and others. A resident of Philadelphia for many years, Litwin has been active in the local metal and underground rock scenes, as well as the avant-garde/improvised music scene. Through merging and reinterpreting these dynamic scenes, the vision for Intensus was born: an improvised extreme metal album with one goal in mind—intensity.

For fans of punk and hardcore music, Dennis Lyxzen is a name that is easy recognised. Most notably for being the front man of punk pioneers Refused, but also as the voice of The (International) Noise Conspiracy and many other various projects. The latest one being AC4, which sees Lyxzen teaming up with Refused drummer David Sandstrom for some straight forward hardcore punk fury which will soon be visiting our shores. Kill You Stereo had a chat with Dennis to hear all about AC4 and his current mind state in general.

Trap Them vocalist Ryan McKenney was recently forced to intervene when a heckler starting abusing the band and crowd at a show in Baltimore.

Polar Bear Club is in the process of recording the follow-up to 2009's Chasing Hamburg this week with producer Brian McTernan (Circa Survive, Balance And Composure, The Graduate). "Everyone says how excited they are about their new record and we are no exception. We really have never been this excited about making a record and cannot wait to have it out there. It's PBC for sure and you can decide what's different about it from prior records for yourselves - the bottom line is we are thrilled about these songs and feel like we are in a really good place as a band as a result of them," said singer Jimmy Stadt. Bridge 9 is projecting a summer release for the album.
