MxPx are busy writing their new record, as confirmed by their Twitter. They posted this via Twitter: "Writing a new record." as well as noting that both Tom Wisniewski and Yuri Ruley will be rehearsing in the studios as well as confirmed that Yuri (and Tom) have retired from touring but will continue to record and perform occasionally.

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has spoken out about bands feeling pressured to have their music featured on hit TV show 'Glee'. "It's every band's right, you shouldn't have to do fucking Glee," Grohl told the Hollywood Reporter. "Dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included. I watched 10 minutes and it wasn't my thing."

The Smashing Pumpkins are streaming their new song, Lightning Strikes, via Rolling Stone. The Pumpkins mainman and visionar Billy Corgan said the song is "dedicated with affection to Mark Tulin...and all our great Japanese fans who are in our prayers."

Grunge rockers Soundgarden are streaming their new release, Live On I5, on their Facebook page. The album features songs recorded on their 1996 US West Coast tour dates, the album title coming from the Interstate 5.

Megadeth frontman and born-again Christian Dave Mustaine told Total Guitar that his youthful experimentation with black magic ruined his life in an interview about the classic Peace Sells, But Who's Buying? album.

Californian gore-grind pioneers Exhumed, have completed the follow up to their 2003 album 'Anatomy is Destiny.' Exhumed's new release 'All Guts, No Glory'  was recorded between Arcane Digital Recordings with Ryan Butler (Misery Index) and Trench Studios with John Haddad (Abysmal Dawn, Intronaut) with mixing and mastering duties handled by Brian Elliot (Graves of Valor) at Mana Recording Studios. The CD will be released on the 5th of July in North America (dates concerning other territories to come) via Relapse records and will also be released on deluxe, saw-blade shaped vinyl and as a limited edition 2-disc set.

New death metal/hardcore act The Devastated, featuring ex members of Impending Doom and Oblige have signed to the powerhouse label Century Media. The news was broken via the bands Facebook when the following statement was posted earlier today "We are proud to announce our signing to Century Media Records! Thank you everyone for the support. We will see you all on the road soon!" The band is currently finishing their new album, which was produced by Chris Eck ( who has worked on releases by Impending Doom Underneath the Gun).

Massachusetts metallic-hardcore pioneeers Converge have announced they are releasing a new split 7inch with Rhode Island power-violence band Drop Dead that will be self released and distributed by Deathwish records. In other Converge news, the band has begun demoing new songs for the follow up to 2009's Axe To Fall and their new DVD Thousands of Miles Between Us is in it's editing stage and according to a Deathwish press statement, "If the Hard Drive Gods smile on us, we hope to get through this process soon and have it released this year."
