Jim Ward announces Australian tour and album release
Jim Ward, founding member of seminal post-hardcore band At The Drive In and lead guitarist/vocalist of Sparta will release his debut solo record, Quiet In The Valley, On The Shores The End Begins through Stop Start on July 22, 2011. Ward’s knack for tailoring unforgettable and unique music was honed in his first band, one of the most important bands of the 1990s, At The Drive- In. Widely regarded to be a defining fixture in the post-hardcore scene, ATDI inspired an enormous fan base with their outrageously energetic live shows and unorthodox techniques. After the band’s indefinite hiatus in 2001, Ward returned to his home town of El Paso before forming Sparta with former ATDI band mates Tony Hajjar and Paul Hinojos. Sparta enjoyed international success and broad critical acclaim before the touring/album cycle again took it’s toll and the band announced a hiatus in 2008. No Sleep Records ink Australian deal with Shock Records
Shock Records is pleased to announce they have inked a deal to become the exclusive Australian/New Zealand partner of California's No Sleep Records. Shock Records General Manager of Music, Leigh Gruppetta said "We've been talking to Chris about working with No Sleep for a while and are excited to have struck a deal. Chris' dedication is next level, he’s built an eclectic roster of really exciting young acts that we are thrilled to be working with in Australia & New Zealand." No Sleep Records originally started while Southern Californian transplant Chris Hansen was working as the art director for a larger independent label on the East Coast (New Jersey). No Sleep was eventually moved back out West to Huntington Beach, CA. The Snowdroppers announce video premiere
On Thursday June 23, Sydney’s sons of gutter-blues, The Snowdroppers, will be premiering their brand new video, ‘Run You Down’, via an online Peepshow. The Peepshow will be an exclusive experience for fans eyes only, with access being granted solely to members of The Snowdroppers mailing list. On the night of the premiere, members of The Snowdroppers mailing list will be sent instructions on how to gain access to the ‘Run You Down’ Peepshow. Those who sign-up to view Peepshow video premiere will also receive a free mp3 download of the ‘Run You Down’ track.
