Periphery announce local supports
Spawned in Brisbane in late 2009, progressive tech-metal bastards Ironhide will be unleashing an unhinged affair of live mayhem on audiences at The Zoo. The five-piece, dual vocal party crew have effortlessly melded punk vibes and post-metal influences into a technical metal maelstrom; with their frantic live show Ironhide are set to blow minds in support of Periphery and Tesseract. With 6 years experience constantly touring Australia, As Silence Breaks have proven to be an unstoppable force in the heavy music scene. A solid mix of Heavy Metal, Melodic Death Metal and Thrash Metal, As Silence Breaks will be getting things started at the sold out Sydney show at the Annandale before heading off to the USA to tour the West Coast and record their third album. Velocity/Rise Records signs Secrets
San Diego, CA post-hardcore five-piece Secrets has signed with Velocity/Rise Records. The band's debut full-length was produced by Tom Denney (formerly of A Day To Remember) and is due out this fall. Velocity Records' Dave Shapiro says, "When I heard these songs, I knew San Diego had yet another band that would be at the forefront of their genre." Rise Records founder Craig Ericson is equally pumped on the signing, explaining, "Dave showed me the band and I immediately knew these guys were keepers." Having formed less than one year ago, Secrets have already made an impact as one of the most promising up and coming acts in the scene. Armed with irresistibly catchy choruses, soaring vocals, and mercilessly dynamic breakdowns, Secrets is preparing to tour heavily in support of the new release this fall.
