Motion City Soundtrack revealed on Twitter that they are closer to unleashing their fifth album. The follow up to their 2010 major label debut My Dinosaur Life will begin the mixing process this week.

Ambitious rock band 30 Seconds to Mars are set to make history in December for performing the most shows during a single album cycle. Having been on the promotion trail for their latest record This Is War since its release in December 2009, the band will perform their 300th show at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City on December 7, before kicking off a week of special shows to celebrate the milestone. "We have been on the road for an incredible and insane two years and thought what better way to celebrate the end of this phenomenal journey than with a week of special shows in New York City", says singer Jared Leto. "We thought documenting this for posterity with the Guinness Book of World Records would be fun, especially as we aren't any good at growing our fingernails very long or cultivating the world's largest squash."

Anberlin lead singer Stephen Christian has had to leave the bands current US tour due to “urgent family issues”. Filling in for the remaining shows will be Dan Marsala and Phil Snead from Story of the Year. In a statement posted on Facebook, the band were faced with a last minute decision on whether to drop off the tour or figure out a creative way to not cancel some of their favourite cities. “So we have decided to do something we have never done before, and we hope you will have as much fun with this as we will.” Here's hoping some quality footage makes it's way onto youtube. 

Southern California punk/surf power trio Agent Orange announced the cancelation of their upcoming Australian tour. They have been forced to postpone the tour, which was planned for later this month, due to personal reasons.Agent Orange are thankful to their loyal Australian fans who have been incredibly supportive over the years, and the band promise to return in 2012. The new tour dates are soon to be announced. All tickets are now refundable from the point of purchase.

Sydney pop punk darlings Tonight Alive have announced a special acoustic performance at Notes in Newtown on October 30th. The night will see the band stripping things back, treating the crowd to acoustic renditions of songs from their new album What Are You So Scared Of?, as well as some old favourites.  

 The Black Keys have announced the release details for their upcoming album, El Camino. Physical copies of the album will be available December 2, with digital copies being released December 6 via Nonesuch Records. Ahead of the release, the album's first single titled 'Lonely Boy' will be released on October 26. You can pre-orders the album from the band's website and as well as the label's and includes a download of the single, which will be delivered on October 26. Singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach says of the album, "I think where this record is going to shine for me is playing the songs live.
