Ghost inspire new burger, Catholics unhappy
A Chicago based heavy metal themed restaurant has created a new burger inspired by the band Ghost. However, the implementation hasn’t gone entirely smoothly, with certain people taking offence to the creation. As the Chicago Tribune reports, the meal is a “10-ounce burger topped with a red wine reduction and an unconsecrated communion wafer.” Subsequently, some patrons have become upset with the symbolism. "It's not the Eucharist, but it's still symbolic. For us as Catholics, the Eucharist is more than a symbol, it's a sacrament. At the same time, it doesn't mean that symbols aren't important. … It is a mockery of something that is holy. The same thing could be said of the band itself,” Jeff Young, producer of the Catholic Foodie blog said.
