AUGUST AUZINS (SYD)

Come celebrate the release of August Auzins new single HOPE ZERO on the 13th December with  Gloomie, Darcy Forever and Slowcoaching. August Auzins emerged from the remnants of Sydney’s post-punk outfit City Rose, driven by his desire to capture the grit, ick, and beauty of his hometown. The project was conceived during a sleepless night in a Brisbane hotel room while on tour with Bristol heroes IDLES. Inspired by their singers  honesty, authenticity, and generosity, August felt emboldened to explore the humor in his own terrible truths. Armed with an unapologetic alter ego, he began releasing a series of story-driven songs that delved into his own history of hypocrisy, betrayal, pretension, and unrequited love.August quickly collaborated with Jonathan Boulet and Kirsty Tickle of Party Dozen, resulting in four tracks featuring Jon’s production and Kirsty’s distinctive saxophone. Following a sold-out single launch at Sydney’s Factory Floor, August retreated from the scene to reimagine a path beyond the kitsch fantasies of sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll.In 2025, after failing spectacularly and regretting nothing, August Auzins returns ecstatic  -with a new story and new band. Making their debut in NAARM, they proudly introduce the first single from their upcoming album, Hope Zero.
