Ashkan Shafiei
SUNDAY 11 OCTOBER 2026 | 2:00PM
What?
This spring, Museums of History NSW and Music in Exile curate a series of intimate Sunday performances at the historic Elizabeth Farm. Across three Sundays in October, experience a stellar line-up of musicians building bold new careers in Australia and reshaping what our music industry sounds like.
Drawing inspiration from the golden era of Iranian music in the 1960s and 70s, Ashkan Shafiei blends Persian musical traditions with contemporary influences to create a sound that is both deeply personal and boldly original.
At Sunday Sessions, Ashkan will perform music from his forthcoming EP Hunter, recorded through Music in Exile's Artist Accelerator Program. From the sounds of forbidden cassette tapes shared among family in Iran to his contemporary life in Australia, Ashkan's work honours a rich musical legacy while forging a distinctly new path.
