Last month, the Regional and Remote Music Summit announced the first 25 speakers to appear at this year’s program, including Ant McKenna, Emily Tulloch, Jeremy Conlon, Millie Millgate, and more.
Today, another 19 speakers have been added to this year’s event. Taking place in Berrin/Mount Gambier from Wednesday, 28 to Friday, 30 October, leading Australian industry figures will gather to discuss creativity in the regions, strengthening touring networks, and amplifying the voices of artists and music workers who don’t live in metropolitan cities.
MusicSA has announced that the 19 speakers added today solidify the program’s focus on artists, First Nations perspectives, the work of local government, and the people who make regional music happen.
New speakers include Aeron Clark, the Music Director at Edge Radio 99.3FM, Woodfordia Managing Director & Co-Founder Amanda Jackes, DEM MOB’s Basso, Gully, and PAYDAE, MusicNT’s Catherine Satour, producer Jay Gonsalves, WAM CEO Owen Whittle, and more. Check out the complete list of speakers below.
The Summit has also unveiled this year’s live music program, with most events free and open to the public.
Rock Lock Records owner Jack Lane will open proceedings on Wednesday with an all-Limestone Coast bill at Woolstore Brewery, which will include performances from Alison Newman, Gernz, Sexy As Shit and Stokes.
On Thursday, a delegate-only Moshtix Margaritas event takes over the Globe Hotel. The event will be curated by General Admission Entertainment and host Greasy, Ned Baulderstone, and Piper Wallin. Limestone Coast Pantry will then host an Adelaide University Alumni Showcase, starring DEM MOB, My Cherie, and The Genevieves – and the event is open to all.
Live music at the Summit concludes at lunchtime on Friday thanks to the Carclew x Wildlive Showcase, which will spotlight emerging music from Cheleigh, Bousta and Live Slug Reaction on a 100% off-grid stage.
