Macaulay Culkin ProfileOne of the most iconic figures in '90s pop culture is heading to Australia, with Macaulay Culkin plotting a batch of dates around the country for this November.
Taking place in late November, Culkin will be in attendance at a trio of special screenings of the 1990 holiday classic Home Alone.
Launching at Brisbane's Fortitude Music Hall on November 24th, and visiting Melbourne's Regent Theatre, and Sydney's Enmore Theatre in the coming days, audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film, before Culkin joins for a special series of live moderated interviews.
Fans of the classic flick will be able to hear Culkin relive his memories of the film, his favourite memories of its filming, and his own thoughts on why it remains such an integral part of every holiday viewing schedule.
First released in November 1990, the Chris Columbus-directed, John Hughes-penned film became one of the most popular films of the year and the ensuing decade, turning Culkin into a major star.
Leaning heavily into the absurdity and ingenuity of Culkin's Kevin McCallister character as he seeks to protect his family home from would-be thieves after he was inadvertently left – as the title suggests – home alone, the film was a hit with all ages, and even saw its lead return for the 1992 sequel, Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.
The success of Home Alone also saw Culkin's profile extend outwards into the world of music, going on to star in the music video for Michael Jackson's Black Or White, and decades later, he even launched his own comedy rock band, The Pizza Underground.
Sadly, it appears as though there won't be any reunion appearances of Culkin's band this November, though the event – aptly titled A Nostalgic Night With Macaulay Culkin – looks set to lean in on the nostalgia and fond memories that many have associated with both Culkin and the Home Alone film.
Tickets to these events go on sale from 11am local time on Wednesday, September 21st via Destroy All Lines, while a pre-sale runs for 48 hours from 10am, Monday, September 23rd, with registrations available now.
