The Iron Horses have unveiled the video for their new single, Traffic, a visual tale of one man's slide through heartbreak into the pits of drunkenness, substance abuse and wearing sunglasses at night.
Directed by James Whaler, the film was shot on Manly's Northern Beaches and in Sydney's CBD during the recent Vivid festival, while eagle-eyed locals may recognise the interior of the Ramblin' Rascal Tavern as being the bar in which the central character's night (and life, it would seem) takes its turn for the worse.
There are some thoughtful little details scattered throughout the clip, too, including things like the fact that the protagonist's phone screen is broken and the almost mechanical nature of his chain-smoking when he's walking around the city — both quietly suggestive of his self-destructive, careless tendencies that ultimately cost him the attention of his (presumably now-ex-) fiancee.
The punchy, rockin' tune was produced by Sean Carey (ex-Thirsty Merc), the band taking influence from the likes of Kingswood, British India and Kings Of Leon as they grow and move forward from last year's EP, Stop To Start
