Adam HillsStart re-charging your music trivia knowledge, because Spicks And Specks is returning to our screens next month. Today, ABC has revealed the premiere date for this year’s season of the long-running, beloved musical-comedy quiz series, and a teaser video is available below.
A new season of Spicks And Specks returns to ABC TV and ABC iView on Wednesday, 8 July, at 8:35 pm. The usual gang – Adam Hills, Myf Warhurst, and Alan Brough – are back and raring to go.
Plus, this year’s season will be chock-full of Australian music icons taking on the quiz questions, including Amy Shark, Ruel, Casey Donovan, Chris Cheney, Dami Im, Kate Miller-Heidke, Katie Noonan, and many others. Comedians like Tommy Little and Denise Scott will also join the panels – hilarious but perhaps not so helpful.
Homegrown musicians are also set to perform on the Spicks And Specks stage, with Missy Higgins, Regurgitator, Miss Kaninna, Keli Holiday, Ruby Fields, Robert Forster, Playlunch, and others showcasing the very best of Australian music.

Last year marked the milestone 20th anniversary of Spicks And Specks.

The 20th anniversary season brought back fan-favourite games such as Know Your Product, Substitute, and Sir Mix N Matchalot, and introduced new games, including Frank Pinata, Musical Chers, and Will.A.I.am Shakespeare.
Last year’s season also welcomed Marcia Hines, Meg Washington, Kram, Lucy Durack, and Robert Forster to play the games alongside Julia Morris, Tom Ballard, Dave O’Neil, and Sara Pascoe. The live music line-up included The Living End, Spiderbait, Pseudo Echo, Paul Kelly, Emma Donovan, Montaigne, and Barry Morgan.
After taking a break in 2023, Spicks & Specks returned to the ABC in 2024.
