Rick Beato Announces Debut Australian Tour

Rick Beato will bring his popular 'What Makes This Song Great?' segment to life and host an audience Q&A when he lands on our shores this October.

American musician, producer and YouTube personality Rick Beato is heading to Australia and New Zealand for the first time this October.

Beato is one of the most influential music-focused creators and personalities on YouTube. Best known for his channel, Everything Music, Beato frequently breaks down the intricacies of songs you know and love, interviews rock music icons, and gets nerdy about music theory and production.

Having interviewed everyone from Sting to Brian May, Flea, Geddy Lee, Peter Frampton, Rick Rubin, and many others, Beato consistently showcases his extensive knowledge of music and his endlessly fascinating insights into songwriting, recording, and musicianship. Beato currently has an audience of over 5.5 million subscribers on YouTube alone.

But what are his live shows like? According to tour promoters Frontier Touring, Rick Beato Live will take place as a three-part show in which the star reflects on his life and career before bringing his popular What Makes This Song Great? segment to life, and concluding the evening with an audience Q&A.

What Makes This Song Great? is a fan-favourite in which Beato dissects the songwriting, compositions and production of legendary music, whether it’s a classic by Elton John, Fleetwood Mac or Nirvana.

To date, Beato has brought his live show across Europe twice and recently finished a run of sold-out North American dates. Now, it’s time for the show to arrive in Australia and New Zealand.

Beato’s tour begins at Auckland’s SkyCity Theatre on Saturday, 24 October. It continues at Sydney’s Factory Theatre on Thursday, 29 October, Melbourne’s Thornbury Theatre on Friday, 30 October, and concludes at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Saturday, 31 October.
