José Carreras To Host One-Night-Only Extravaganza At The Gabba With Robbie Williams, The Corrs & More

One of the world’s most celebrated tenors, José Carreras, is heading to Brisbane this December to host a one-night-only event, where he’ll be joined by numerous famous faces.

Inspired by the stuff of legend – Pavarotti & Friends extravaganzas – the event, taking place at The Gabba on Saturday, 5 December, marks a major coup for Queensland. Carreras & Friends will find some of the world’s biggest stars sharing the stage and duetting with Carreras.

Performers are heading to The Gabba from Australia and abroad this summer. Robbie Williams will perform classics such as My Way and Angels with Carreras, while many other artists have locked in duets and solo performances of their hits for the Australian exclusive.

Natalie Imbruglia, Sheppard, Mark Vincent, and Katherine Jenkins will perform duets with Carreras and solo performances, leading into performances from Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes (Truly Madly Deeply), Heart’s Ann Wilson (What About Love and Stairway To Heaven), The Corrs (Breathless and Runaway), and Ronan Keating (Father & Son). Plus, a press release hints at “several surprise moments” that will also be littered throughout the evening.

Directed by renowned maestro Keith Levenson (The Who, Stevie Nicks), the show will go beyond any normal concert. Carreras & Friends will be accompanied by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and choir, with opera and contemporary classics coming together for a phenomenal stadium event.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from 10 am on Friday, 12 June, followed by the general sale at 10 am on Monday, 15 June. You can find tickets via the Carreras & Friends website or Ticketmaster.
