“Music is all I really know,” Michael Dable reflects on what drove his pursuit toward music. “I've made it so there is no other option in my life but to pursue this as a career. Having a safety net means you're already thinking about failure!”
Dable has been producing and writing music non-stop over the last couple of years, and reveals how Radiohead’s Weird Fishes was an influence on his latest track Ghost. “I really loved the spirit of [the song]. I haven't really taken any specific inspiration from it, but just the feeling and vibe around it... the only theme that really matters for me is that it's all coming from me, that is the cohesion.”
Having played every instrument the single, as well as producing and mixing it himself with manager Craig Wilson, Dable is a universal musical virtuoso - and a pro at turning awkward experiences into art.
“I was accidentally locked in my old studio above FBi Radio. Waiting for my studio bud to come back and let me out, I laid down all the drums, guitars and bass lines,” he recalls of the birth of Ghost, although he does admit mixing the noise out of the guitar parts proved challenging, “I had to get an exorcist in to fix it and get rid of any weird poltergeisty vibes,” he jokes.

Dable has an EP in the works for later this year, but for now he's on the road with house-electronic act Motez and is pleased with how the song has been received live; “It's working really well and getting as good of an early reaction as I could hope. Can't wait till more ears get around it.”
