Album title? The Ultraviolent

Where did the title of your new album come from? Firstly, it is a reference to the amazing Andrew Burgess novel and Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange. Secondly, it is a nod to the western film The Unforgiven.

How many releases do you have now? Two EPs: Esoterica (2005) and The Battle For Mount Analogue (2010).

How long did it take to write/record? Some compositions date back over 15 years to the initial inception of the band, as does some of the recording. Recording with intent for the album however began approximately five years ago.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? Mainly film soundtracks. Everything from spaghetti westerns to science fiction. The album is a concept album that is meant to be listened to as a soundtrack to a film that does not actually exist.

What's your favourite song on it? That would have to be A Murder of Crows as it was a collaborative songwriting effort between three best friends.

Will you do anything differently next time? We will definitely produce the next album in a quicker timeframe. This one took WAY too long, although we are VERY happy with the result. Also, more collaborations between members.

When and where is your launch/next gig? Launch shows for the album: 4 Sep, The Basement, Canberra; 12 Sep, Dicey Riley's Hotel, Wollongong; 10 Oct, Town Hall Hotel, Newtown.
