Already announced as performers on this year’s Vivid LIVE line-up, Scottish post-rock outfit Mogwai have added another two Australian shows to their itinerary.

With the new dates announced, Mogwai will now perform at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall as part of Vivid LIVE on Saturday, 23 May, Melbourne’s Forum on Monday, 25 May, and Brisbane’s QPAC – Glasshouse Theatre on Wednesday, 27 May, performing as part of the Open Season 2026 program.

Tickets for the band’s Sydney show are already available – purchase yours here. Pre-sale tickets for the Brisbane show will be available this Thursday, 26 March, at 7 am local time – register here for access – followed by the general sale on Friday, 27 March, at 8 am local time via the QPAC website.

Pre-sale tickets to their Melbourne show can be purchased on Thursday, 26 March, at 9 am local time from here. The general sale commences on Friday, 27 March, at 9 am local time via Ticketek.

For their upcoming Australian shows, Mogwai have joined forces with PLUS1 to support War Child. $1 from each ticket sold on their forthcoming tour will help War Child to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children whose lives have been impacted by war.

Mogwai are currently celebrating their 30th anniversary. Since their formation in 1995, the Scottish band have released eleven albums packed with monumental sonic power, their feedback-drenched crescendos making for cathartic music.

Their debut album, Young Team, was released in 1997. The band has since released 10 more albums, including classic records such as Rock Action (2001) and Happy Songs for Happy People (2003). In 2021, the band found significant critical acclaim when their chart-topping album, As The Love Continues, was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

Last year, Mogwai released their latest album, The Bad Fire, and received rave reviews.

The band last toured Australia in February 2024, and before that, they visited in 2018.

Reviewing their 2018 show at Melbourne’s Forum, The Music’s Tobias Handke declared, “Mogwai are still the most pioneering and captivating post-rock group to come out of the ‘90s, with tonight’s performance best summed up with the one word: breathtaking.”
