MogwaiWho said winter only has to be wet, cold and miserable? Brisbane’s live music program Open Season instead turns up the heat, today announcing the line-up for this year’s event.
From 25 May to 25 July, the sixth edition of Open Season will bring over 100 artists and special events to diverse ten venues, including theatres, clubs, galleries and public spaces across Brisbane.
Produced by The Tivoli Group, Open Season has become Brisbane’s defining winter event. Championing local, national and international artists, global acts appearing on this year’s bill include Gil Scott-Heron by Brian Jackson and Yasiin Bey, Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE, Current Joys, Dry Cleaning, Mogwai, Sparks, Ben Gerrans, Wednesday, Matt Berninger of The National fame, Silversun Pickups, Deafheaven, and many others.
Representing Australia are the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Alison Wonderland, Shady Nasty, Peach PRC, Full Flower Moon Band, the Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and more. Plus, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Hatchie are among the acts set to perform at Against The Grain Festival on Saturday, 20 June, while Beddy Rays, Jem Casser-Daley and others will perform at Blak Day Out on Friday, 24 July.
More artists and venues will be announced on Friday, 10 April.
Open Season’s eight-week takeover will have artists perform at The Tivoli, The Princess Theatre, QPAC’s new Glasshouse Theatre, South Brisbane’s Fish Lane, the Clarence Corner Precinct in Woolloongabba, the historic St Andrew's Church, Quivr in Winn Lane, and other public spaces.

Creative Director Dave Sleswick has described this year’s Open Season program as its most expansive yet.
“Open Season has always been about building something from the ground up, a program that belongs to the city and the people who live here,” Sleswick said.
“In 2026, we’re expanding further than ever: more venues, more artists, more unexpected spaces. It’s rough around the edges, full of bite and big ideas, and driven by people who genuinely care about making Brisbane a more interesting and culturally rich place to call home.”
QPAC Chief Executive Rachel Healy added, “Last year’s Open Season collaboration was such a roaring success with 35 per cent of audiences for the series coming to QPAC for the very first time.
“We’re excited that our Glasshouse is now open and ready to be a part of this year’s Open Season with in-demand international acts such as Mogwai and Sparks on our newest stage, adding to Brisbane’s reputation as a contemporary music destination.”
