How It Works turns 25 in August. Can you believe it? Neither can we.

To celebrate, Bodyjar are taking their seminal fourth album on the road this July and August, revisiting the record for the How It Still Works tour.

“Are you ready for THE HOW IT STILL WORKS TOUR? We’re bringing the machine back in for its 25-year scheduled service this July,” the Aussie punk rockers wrote on social media.

They added, “The rig is roadworthy. Cam [Baines] has personally undergone a full grease and oil change. Nick [Manuell] has changed his o-ring, whatever that is. Tommy [Read] has invested in a new set of strings for the occasion. [Shane] Wakker has lubed up the drum kit, which is weird but whatever you need to do Shane. The vehicle is serviced and ready to put some mileage on the already clocked odometer.”

The tour begins at Newcastle’s King Street Bandroom on Thursday, 9 July. It continues at Sydney’s Crowbar on Friday, 10 July, Wollongong’s Waves on Saturday, 11 July, Gold Coast’s Miami Marketta on Thursday, 16 July, Brisbane’s Crowbar on Friday, 17 July, Kings Beach Tavern on Saturday, 18 July, and Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Thursday, 23 July.

More dates include Scarborough’s Indian Ocean Hotel on Friday, 24 July, Margaret River’s The River on Saturday, 25 July, Belgrave’s Sooki Lounge on Friday, 31 July, and concluding at the celebration of Melbourne venue The Last Chance Rock & Roll Bar on Saturday, 1 August.

Tickets will be available on Friday, 17 April, at 9 am local time via Bodyjar’s website.

For the upcoming tour, Bodyjar will be joined by special guests Not Dollar Short – a punk rock supergroup featuring members of One Dollar Short, Irrelevant, Frenzal Rhomb, and Something With Numbers – for the NSW and QLD shows and The Decline in WA.

The support acts for Victoria and SA will be announced soon.

Released in August 2000, How It Works debuted at #19 on the ARIA Charts. However, the band found international fame when the single, Not the Same, featured in the 2001 video game, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3, as well as the 2002 motocross video game, MX Superfly. Also in 2001, Bodyjar performed at Warped Tour in the US.
