Interview: George Maple
The latest apple in Future Classic's eye mulls over a huge year, with bigger things to come.. Jess Higgs is somewhere in Sydney watching a storm materialise over a beach. I’m in Brisbane, surrounded by clutter in my study. We’ve hung up on each, and have been playing ping pong with each other’s calls for the past few minutes trying to get the interview back on track: real professional. Chances are you might already be familiar with Higgs’ work, previously featuring on Flight Facilities’ Foreign Language as Jess, and also as her moniker George Maple on Flume’s Bring You Down.   George Maple, and 2014, sees Higgs taking a step out of the shadows and into the limelight of a fledgling solo career. New single Talk Talk, from her forthcoming EP Vacant Space, is a blend of evocative, electronic production and some sultry, soulful vocals. Currently splitting her time between Sydney, America and London, she took 15 minutes out of her Tuesday morning to talk to me. The new single is Talk Talk.

Flight Facilities - Two Bodies feat. Emma Louise
We have lift off.. Flight Facilities would have to be one of the most consistent acts in Australian, nay, global dance music going around. For the past few years they've consistently pushed out single after single of feel-good disco and house, and while some break out a little stronger than others, it's all liquid gold as far as this guy is concerned. Two Bodies, featuring another perfect vocalist in Emma Louise, is a subdued introduction to their upcoming debut album release, Down To Earth, due October 24 via Future Classic/Glassnote. A bubbly slice of chill-house, and also serves as a little comment on the guys' success thus far: "I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?"
