Alex Warren Australian Tour Expected To Go Ahead As Auckland Show Is Cancelled

Alex Warren's highly anticipated Australian tour begins in Sydney this week.

After being forced to cancel a recent show in New Zealand, tour promoters Frontier Touring have stated that Alex Warren’s upcoming Australian shows are expected to go ahead.

On Monday (24 August), Warren cancelled his show at Auckland’s Spark Arena just hours before he was expected to hit the stage due to illness.

In a statement posted on his Instagram Stories, the Ordinary hitmaker explained that he was heartbroken after being left “bedridden” and struggling to “talk let alone sing.”

His statement read, “I never have to do this and it breaks my heart to even write this but I have to cancel tonight’s show.

“I have tried everything to be able to make this show work and I’m sadly bedridden sick at the moment. I can barely talk let alone sing and it sadly isn’t possible to play tonight’s show.”

He continued, “I understand what it takes to be able to attend concerts and the fact so many of you travelled for this one has made this decision even more difficult. I love you so much and hope you understand.”

Frontier Touring added, “Alex is devastated to miss the show and has been looking forward to performing for his Auckland fans.

“He sincerely thanks fans for their understanding and support.”

The Music contacted Frontier Touring for comment after the Auckland show cancellation as his Australian tour begins with a three-night stint at Sydney’s Afterpay Arena (formerly known as Qudos Bank Arena) on Friday, 28 August. Due to demand, extra shows were added to Warren’s initial tour itinerary.

Frontier Touring said, “All Australian shows are expected to proceed.”

Warren will perform at Afterpay Arena on Friday, 28, Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30 August.

Following the Sydney shows, he heads to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre (1 and 2 September), Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena (4, 5, and 6 September), Adelaide Entertainment Centre Arena on Wednesday, 9 September, and Perth’s RAC Arena on Saturday, 12 September. The Adelaide and Perth shows have sold out.

The Finding Family on the Road tour sees Warren promoting his forthcoming album, Wildchild, set for release this Friday (28 August).
