'Down To Earth' will be yours to own in October
Sydney-bred electro luminaries Flight Facilities are storming their way back into the public consciousness with today’s surprise announcement of their forthcoming debut full-length album, Down To Earth.
The news of the album – which features guest spots from the likes of Owl Eyes, Emma Louise, Christine Hoberg, Giselle and Reggie Watts, and will see release via the renowned Future Classic in October this year – would be generosity enough from the Crave You hit-makers, but members Hugo Gruzman and James "Jimmy" Lyell are taking it another step with the gracious revelation of an impending worldwide tour for good measure.
Although fans will have to wait a little longer for the album – which shouldn’t be too hard, since until now they didn’t even know for sure they were getting it with any degree of immediacy – those so-inclined can head straight to book themselves a Down To Earth first-class experience, which stretches the aviation metaphors to their acceptable limits by way of including “in-flight entertainment” (aka the album in your format of choice plus an exclusive remix of the first single), “boarding pass” (tickets to your chosen gig), and a “care kit” that includes an eye-mask, socks, earplugs, a toothbrush, and an inflatable pillow.

The Flight Facilities Down To Earth world tour will get under way in their home country, kicking off at Adelaide’s HQ on Thursday, November 6, and takes in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney before the “global” element is afoot, which will see Gruzman and Lyell take their infectious club-ready groove party to classy locales such as Berlin, Paris, London, Dublin, New York City and Los Angeles.
Though only five years old as an outfit, Flight Facilities have – to join in the aeronautic-jargon fun – well and truly hit an altitude from which they’ll be able to cruise to any destination they damn well please.
Tickets are not yet on sale for the impending run of shows, but keep an eye on the Gig Guide or The Music App for all the details on when and where you can grab a pass for the must-hit show destination of your choice.
