EXCLUSIVE: Flight Facilities To Headline Perth Festival’s Future Classic Night

Part of the Perth International Arts Festival, theMusic.com.au can today reveal the line-up for the Future Classic showcase night to be held at Chevron Festival Gardens.

Headlining will be local breakout duo Flight Facilities, whose retro-tinged dance numbers have won over audiences in Europe, the US, Japan and South East Asia. Also featured on the night is Sydney quintet Panama, Mitzi, Perth local Scenic and Future Classic DJs, guaranteeing an event full of disco grooves and hip-hop beats.

All the artists on the bill have ties with Future Classic and have either just dropped new releases or plan to in the near future.

Speaking to theMusic.com.au, Chad Gillard of the Sydney based label said “Everything has gone quite smoothly working with Perth Festival. It's our first year being part of the program and we're honoured and excited to be involved.”

Talking on the acts he said, “Flight Facilities have been on fire this year with lots of international touring and their most recent single Clair De Lune showing a whole new side of them musically. Mitzi have their new album out end of January 2013 and just completed a national tour… [it] was the first time they'd played live in quite some time and it was amazing to see the reaction they got at these shows.

“One of our most recent signings, Panama had an EP out in November and it's been getting a great response internationally… [And] we received some new demos from Scenic recently and they blew us away.”

The event is taking place Saturday 16 February.
