One serious grower of an album, where the vocals are rawer and seem better integrated into a more ambitious sound.

There are a couple of mis-steps here, but they are probably the result of Milne being a little too ambitious on an album that’s good on first listen and keeps getting better.

There’s distorted industrial beats, cacophonous de-tuned guitars, video-game style keyboards and some dark lyrics thrown in, delivered in Levi’s distinctive talk-singing style.

Despite some lyrical shortcomings, Toby’s songs have some real class and her voice deserves to be heard.

Everything clicks together so well, but at times it’s crying out for an instrument to stand out and do something interesting, or for the vocals to get a little ragged and raw.
