The Glorious might not entirely live up to their name but they’ve created a very good record nonetheless.

This is an interesting record – it doesn’t break any new ground in terms of production or composition (much of it does reek a little Four Tet derivative), but the lengths to which the separate elements here are pushed is worth pricking one’s ears up at.

They’ve already been played on national radio, but Goldentone, you get the sense, is just the beginning.

Although mildly irritated by the consistent grabbing and touching, MIA persevered and proceeded to get freaky with her biggest fans.

As the smell of marijuana and sweat rose, likeable front woman Bethany Cosentino’s melodic vocals were euphoria-inducing and riddled with her amiable West Coast accent.
